Spiral-Wound Polyimide Tubing | Large-Bore PI Tube & High-Temperature Sleeve

WELLELE spiral-wound polyimide tubing is made by helically winding PI film with a controlled overlap. It is used for larger-bore insulation sleeves, adjustable wall builds and industrial cut lengths where a spiral seam is acceptable.

Custom capability includes IDs of approximately 1-50 mm and wall thicknesses of approximately 0.05-0.35 mm. Final feasibility depends on film, overlap, number of layers, roundness, length, electrical requirement and packaging.

Spiral-wound polyimide tubing Sleeve

Helical-overlap PI film construction
• Custom ID approximately 1-50 mm
• Custom wall approximately 0.05-0.35 mm
• Large-bore, cut-length insulation sleeves

Large-bore capability

Better fit for larger sleeves than small flat-wound tubes

Adjustable wall build

Wall thickness can be reviewed by film and winding structure

Film-based insulation

Suitable for high-temperature electrical insulation sleeves

Custom length

Suitable for cut-length industrial use

Cost-effective for larger sizes

Often better than seamless tube for large bore

Application-specific construction

ID, overlap and wall build reviewed by project

Choose spiral winding when larger ID or adjustable film wall build is needed and the overlap seam is compatible with the function.

Requirement Direction Review
Larger-bore film sleeve Strong fit ID, ovality and packaging
Adjustable wall build Strong fit Film thickness, layers and overlap
Spiral seam acceptable Strong fit Seam opening and orientation
Pressure-tight fluid path Not a default use Medium, pressure and connection testing
Small precision lumen Compare extrusion/dip coating ID, wall and length format

Spiral-wound PI tubing FAQ

Choose it when larger ID, adjustable wall build or large sleeve construction is required and a spiral seam is acceptable.

No. It has a visible spiral overlap structure. If no wound seam is required, review extruded or dip-coated PI tubing.

It is not the default choice for pressure-tight or fluid-sealing applications. Medium, pressure, temperature and connection method must be tested separately.

Overlap, seam opening, cut-end release, large-ID roundness, packaging deformation and electrical test location.

Send ID, wall build, length, roundness requirement, operating temperature, voltage requirement, cut-end standard and annual quantity.

Custom capability covers approximately 1-50 mm ID and 0.05-0.35 mm wall. The exact combination depends on film, overlap, number of layers, roundness, cut length and tolerance.

Select spiral-wound polyimide tubing from the complete component dimensions, operating conditions, manufacturing process and acceptance criteria. Use samples to confirm fit and function before volume production.
