Flat-Wound Polyimide Tubing for Compact Insulation Sleeves

WELLELE flat-wound polyimide tubing uses a polyimide-film construction with an axial overlap. It is reviewed for compact electrical insulation, thermistors, motor or transformer components and short cut-length assemblies where a wound seam is acceptable. Final ID, OD, wall, tolerance and length are confirmed by project. The Kapton name is used only when supplied-film identity and traceability support that trademark.

Flat-wound polyimide tubing FAQ

It can be described as Kapton tube only when the tube is made from traceable Kapton polyimide film. Otherwise it should be described as flat-wound polyimide tubing or PI tubing.

It has an axial overlap structure, so seam orientation, insertion direction and cut-end quality should be reviewed.

Usually it is more suitable for compact and small-to-medium insulation sleeves. Large-bore protection is often reviewed under spiral-wound PI tubing.
